IOTM: Sunny church ladies' auxilliary recipe book What about a Sunny church ladies' auxilliary recipe book, that adds a little creativity (logical due to recipe stats as it is,) and each time used it adds another random recipe to your repertoire so you might luck out and have one you need when you go to make something?
Now that we are without the wiki, it adds something useful without completely unbalancing anything. If anything it adds back a fraction of a major previous resource.
If it were to have some sort of random 'jackpot' It could also give the complete ingredients to one or more recipe, or perhaps in multiples, when it 'hits' as well.
discuss implications. The ingredient delivery might be too unpredictable to implement (recipes aren't just food, they can also be things made from IOTM's or limited edition holiday items, for instance), but the rest is intriguing. I seem to remember this idea coming up before also.
I have thought it might be nice if when disassbling something, the recipe would be learned automatically. But that's a tangent to this thread. An ITOM which helps you learn things might be nice too. Perhaps it could be tied to an item you have on hand. It totally random is too much, perhaps you activate the item and select something you have, and it randomly gives you a recipe for which that is an ingredient. Perhaps saying you look your item up in the cookbook's "index" or some such? If you select something for which no recipe exists using that as an ingredient, then perhaps it gives nothing, just and generic "you can't make anything useful from that" error message.
how about if it did recipes that are needed or easy like the sushis, pastries, or drinks so there wouldn't be bizare recipes that use pumpkins and stuff.
and i think the other idea was a cigerette vending machine that gave creativity, cigs, rubbers, and other oddities....i think
I like the idea of the 'index' so you can use the book on an item similarly ot the disassembler when you hit consume, you get a drop down menu of eligible ingredients. get a random recipe containing it, not already in your recipe list.
